Here is the long awaited update on my other "boy" Angus. He is a Shorkie (Shih Tzu/Yorkie cross) that I got from my cousin at Just We 3. She has Angus's mommy, Roxy.
Anyway, I posted my frustration about his poor eye. It's doing much better now. I'm so relieved! BUT and it's a big BUT!!! While he was at the one vet getting neutered, he got LICE!!! YUCK!!! I was horrified. He had been itching, I noticed that he had a mat behind one ear and one on his rear end, so even though he wasn't supposed to be bathed (his stitches were look great...) I decided to clip and bathe him anyway.
I sat down and started clipping him, found a black grass seed, went to pull it off and it was attached!! Yep that was the first louse I encountered. Oh My Gosh. I have NEVER had a dog with lice. How gross! I pulled out the blade that clips shorter and went to town. Poor Angus was COVERED in them!! OH MY GOSH. Now I'm really freaking out. Do I tell my husband who will have a total FIT or do I keep it a secret? Now I had to disinfect our bedding, our carpet, all the blankets on the couch, the couch, his doggy blankets in the bathroom, myself, my kids, and yes the Hubby, so I HAD to tell him.
OH MY GOSH!! Then I remembered something... when one of our miniature horses had lice, the vet said that lice are species specific. Meaning that chicken lice stay on chickens (or other birds) horse lice stays on horses (small and big alike) and dog lice stays on dogs. PHEW! So none of us has lice. But that still means that I had to disinfect the blankets and the carpet. Geesh. It was a very busy day. I ran him into the vet, where we were told his eye is healing up wonderfully and he was promptly treated for the lice. Thank God for Frontline! The lice were dead within a few hours. He is now lice FREE!
Unfortuately for him he is now very bald. Poor little guy. He has to wear his sweaters or a sweatshirt in the house! Or he gets too cold. But he is totally cute! I had to take some pictures today to share =)
Here he is with all his toys. I think he now has more toys than the boys do. I gave him this little basket to put them in. Now I just need to teach him how to put them away when he's done!
What kind of dog do you have? If you don't have a dog is there a kind that you've always wanted??

We briefly had a puggle, just about the cutest thing ever, but moments after I had paid for him, both husband and child broke out in a rash. Turns out husband was allergic to the proteins in her saliva! She went to a nice home, and we are considering a goldfish!
I've never heard of a Shorkie, but he sure is cute! Growing up, we had a shih-tzu. He was my best little friend. He thought he was the same size or bigger than our neighbor's doverman pincer (sp?). Anyway, he got into it with the other dog and aftger one of their fights he lost his eye. He was a little cyclopse. I don't know why I just told you that story, but sometimes certain things, like pictures of dogs with shih-tzu in them, just gets me going. Yay for doggies!
Oh my goodness! He is precious! We just got a miniature schnauzer puppy named Addie :) She is my first dog EVER and I'm totally in love :)
Just snooping around after taking my BATW tour. What a cute little guy. I have to admit I'm typically not much of dog person, but he she is a cutie!
He is ADORABLE! I had a basset hound when I was a kid and still love them. We have cats--no dogs:)
I'm visiting from BATW. I loved your tour of Montana. I would love to visit there. But I had to scroll down and see your new baby. He is adorable. I love small dogs. (small dog-small poop) is my motto. Anyway we have a miniature Schnauzer that we got from a rescue. She is so much fun and I'm glad we got her. I can't wait to come back and see future pictures of Angus.
he is adorable
Ha. I have a cat who thinks he's a dog? Does that count?
Angus is absolutely adorable. I wanted a Yorkie really bad, but they were above and beyond my price range. Now I have Vader, a half chichuachua, half mini aussie/italian greyhound. I have pictures of him up, too. He's really cute...even if he isn't a Shorkie. :)
